Consuming fast food once or twice a month for a change from the routine food habit is not that dangerous.

“Depending on junk food and totally avoiding fibre-rich food materials like vegetables and fruits will lead to serious health issues. Earlier, diseases like diabetes were detected in Malayalis at an average age of 40. But now, it is detected even in a 25-year old. These are all the results of the unhealthy food habits,” she added.

Experts say that the high levels of trans-fatty acids found in many junk and fast foods can lead to fatty liver deposits. Eating too much junk food will  make one feel uncomfortable and cause mood swings and constipation.

Junk foods will lower the energy levels which will result in lack of  interest. At that stage, one will lose the interest in working out at gymnasiums or exercising, which is necessary to burn off extra calories.
