New Delhi: BenQ has announced the launch of its palm-sized second-generation 'Joybee GP2 projector' in India that lets users have a big screen experience on the move. The projector comes with an iPhone/iPod-compatible dock.
Priced at Rs 39,167, the projector uses an LED light source to last for the life of the projector. Thus, it is claimed to project for 30,000 hours without decrease in brightness when in the Eco mode.
The compact projector is touted to project up to 160-inch image size. It has a 1.13 short-throw ratio that lets you project a 44-inch picture from a distance of 1 metre.
The projector has a touch sensitive control panel and an intuitively designed user interface.
As far as looks are concerned, the projector is portable, and has quite sophisticated looks. At 565g, the projector is light in weight.
In case if you are unable to locate power sockets in your reach, you can run the projector using the detachable battery (optional), which is said to be last for 3 hours when running at 100 ANSI lumen brightness. The battery costs around Rs 5,000.
This mini projector comes packed with two built-in 2W speakers. The device offers multimedia connectivity, and can be connected to other devices using HDMI cable. The projector also includes a SD card slot and a USB reader.
With the GP2 projector, users can connect to their computers by simply using a USB cable. It comes engineered with an internal memory of 2GB, and users can simply transfer multimedia files to its internal storage just by plugging in a USB drive.
The company boasts that it has a high contrast ratio of 2400:1, 200 ANSI lumen brightness and 720p HD-ready short-throw projection.
Though a limited stock of the Joybee GP2 projector is available in the market, but according to the company, the device will be commercially rolled out by the middle of the next month.
When asked about the future plans, Rajeev Singh, country head and general manager, BenQ India said, "We will come up with two new projectors by June. Currently, we are working on similar kind of projectors(GP2) with in-built DVD player," adding, "We will also come up solid state LED laser hybrid projectors, which will use both LED and laser technologies."
