BBMP cuts more illegal cables

BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), which started its drive against illegal Optical Fibre Cables (OFC) recently has cut 25 such cables on Tuesday in Bangalore. A release from BBMP said that they have cut illegal cables in Kurubarahalli main road, near Shankar Mutt, Modi Hospital in Mahalakshmipura and in many other areas.It can be recalled that after Optical Fibre Cable service providers approached High Court contesting the method of identification of illegal cables, the court had adviced BBMP not to take OFC drive for two weeks and after the stipulated time elapsed, BBMP has resumed the operation.The entire process was inaugurated with great fan fare by the Mayor Sharadamma earlier this year.
