"Of the four persons swept away in the flash flood in river Oringi on Thursday, bodies of two women are recovered while the remaining two of the same village returned home on Friday," said special relief commissioner (SRC) PK Mohapatra. The deceased were identified as Malati (42) and Phulmani (42), Mohapatra said adding that Bonda Hills, the home of about 12,000 Bonda tribes, a particularly vulnerable tribal group remained out of reach because of the landslide and washing away of the only road.

"We will be able to start free kitchen for Bonda tribals from Saturday morning," the collector said. According to the district administration, many houses have been damaged in the rain and roads washed away.
