New Delhi: The Army Commanders Conference that commences on Tuesday will focus on the Army’s operational review in Jammu and Kashmir and Northeast
The five-day conference will be inaugurated by Defence Minister A K Antony will also have modernisation and capability building, operational readiness and training, among others as agendas.
The confabulation, attended by the Army top brass, will be chaired by Army Chief Gen JJ Singh who will also review other activities of the Army. Sources say General, wherever required, will also issue directions to carry out midcourse corrections.
An Army spokesperson was also quoted by agencies as saying that “Detailed discussion, in particular, will be carried out on 'Value Based Leadership' to evoke a deliberate in-house introspection.”
The official also said that other important issues slated for discussions are the steps to be taken at ground-level for 'Improvement in Promotion/Service Conditions of Personnel Below Officer Rank including update on Vith CPC, Appraisal System Team & Redress Mechanism' and a review of the policy on 'Strategy for an Integrated Approach towards Peacekeeping Operations'.
A well-thoughtout strategy and roadmap to the ÍVth Military World Games to be held in India in October later this year will also be presented.
