Anup Kuruvilla John has assumed charge at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters in New Delhi.
Anup was an AIG of the state police and had also served as the City Commissioner of Kozhikode and as Superintendent of police, Kannur.
He was also a member of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the T P Chandrasekharan murder case.
