Another child dies of dog bite in B'lore
A six-year-old boy died after he was bitten by a street dog two weeks ago in Yalahanka near B'lore.

New Delhi: Adding to the spate of dog-biting incidents in Bangalore, a six-year-old boy died on Monday after being bitten by a street dog two weeks ago in Yalahanka.

The boy, Hemanth Kumar of Agrahara Layout in Yalahanka, was reportedly bitten on March 25. Two children have died due to dog bites in the city since January.

The stray dog menace has clouded the city due to increase in their population, which is estimated to be 2.5 lakh.

The Brahut Bangalore Metropolitan Corporation had also hired expert dog catchers from Malabar in Kerala to deal with the problem.

But Bangalore is not the only city that faces concern over the stray dog menace, Hyderabad is grappling with the menace as well.

On Monday morning, the two girls and five other students were bitten by dogs on their own college campus in the city

This is not a stray case. According to the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH), there have been 5,481 cases of dog bites in the past month, with 4,870 cases in the first 10 days of April.
