Madurai: In pre-poll violence in Tamil Nadu, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son, Karthik Chidambaram, was allegedly attacked by AIADMK workers.
AIADMK workers were allegedly charging him with distributing money to voters near his home town Karaikudi, about 55 km from Madurai, ahead of Monday's assembly election.
The attack led to a clash between DPA and AIADMK workers, triggering tension in the area, police said.
Karthik sustained minor injuries.
Trading charges, workers of DPA and AIADMK clashed, police said adding the warring groups dispersed after their intervention.
Cases had been registered against both the groups, police said.
