Salem police on Wednesday arrested a salesman for uploading morphed pictures of a college student on Facebook which allegedly prompted her to commit suicide.
The accused named Suresh is a 21-year-old salesman at a cloth store in Salem, Tamil Nadu.
The 21-yr-old victim had committed suicide by hanging herself inside her room after she found out semi-nude photos of her own self on the social networking site Facebook.
The victim was informed by her friends last week that a morphed semi-nude picture of her was all over the social media website.
In her suicide note the victim had claimed that her parents didn't trust her.
Post the incident, the victim was taken to Salem government super specialty hospital for treatment but was pronounced as brought dead.
Earlier, the family had refused to receive the body for her last rites until the culprits were arrested and has accused the police of not acting immediately on their earlier complaint.
The police however denied the allegations and said that the page has been blocked and the probe was on the right track.
