Hyderabad: Air-conditioning, mobile-charging points, ATM, coffee machines and Wi-Fi. This may sound like a list of amenities available at airports or even Metro stations, but this is what Hyderabad’s swanky new bus stops will sport.
The first such bus shelter has come up in Hitech City near Shilparamam, inaugurated by Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao on Tuesday.
Two other advanced or Grade 1 bus shelters are in final stages near RTA office in Khairatabad and KPHB near Kukatpally, and will be opened for public soon.
The bus stops will also have other facilities like separate toilets for men and women, water vending machines, passenger information system and CCTV cameras.
As many as 826 such bus shelters are proposed to come up in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits. The shelters have been categorised into four grades, depending upon the size and amenities.
The Grade 2 bus shelters will be equipped with fans, toilet for men and women, mobile charging points, Wi-Fi and water dispensing unit.
The Grade 3 bus shelters will have basic facilities like mobile charging points, toilets for men and women and water dispensing unit.
