Abducted businessman rescued from Jharkhand

 ROURKELA: The mystery behind the abduction of businessman Amit Gupta alias Bittu Khandelwal (32) was unravelled on Wednesday with the police escorting him back to Rourkela from Jharkhand.   Five teams of Rourkela police along with their counterparts in Jharkhand, Ranchi and Khunti after a hot pursuit persuaded the kidnappers to release Gupta on Ranchi-Ramgarh route in Jharkhand promising them safe passage. Rourkela SP Himanshu Lal claimed that no ransom was paid to the abductors. Gupta’s family had received a ransom call on Saturday night with the kidnappers demanding ` 5 crore. He was abducted while on a business trip to Kolkata.  The SP asserted that the kidnappers would be nabbed in the next operation.
