A physiotherapy centre for the differently-abled

PIRAVOM: A physiotherapy centre was inaugurated at the Block Resource Centre of the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) at Onakoor, near here, the other day.The centre was arranged for the differently-abled students in Piravom sub-district. Equipment worth Rs 2 lakh were arranged at the centre, said BPO K U Isaac. A physiotherapist will visit the centre twice a week to train students.Seventeen differently-abled students have been identified in the Piravom sub district in a survey conducted by the SSA, Isaac said. Pampakuda block panchayat president Sherly Stephan inaugurated the physiotherapy centre, while panchayat president Thomas Thadathil presided over the function.  Piravom AEO Salikutty Jacob, panchayat members Preetha Sabu, and N R Sasidharan and headmistress M K Jaysree spoke.
