All those who saw Alia Bhatt in that opulent wedding ensemble in '2 States' must have been swayed by her look for once. And why not, when it's India's avant- garde couturier Manish Malhorta decking up the diva, the magic is bound to happen. Manish's creation is known for its bling and the larger-than-life presentation. Much of it was seen in the movie during the wedding sequence.
Alia Bhatt has not only proved her mettle with her acting, but has also shown that she can be the most gorgeous of all the Bollywood actresses, when it comes to be the onscreen muse. She portrayed the role of a south Indian girl with finesse and that showed in her dressing as well. The Indian-fusion look which Alia Bhatt sports in '2 States' looks awe-inspiring and the petite damsel pulls it off with utmost élan.
This simple yet modern girl dresses up for the college like any other college going girl does. Sporting chic 'kurtis', cute panel printed suits and long cotton skirts with sexy tees were a part of Ananya's wardrobe in college. And every college going girl would associate herself with Ananya's style and character.
With minimal makeup, Alia's look in the movie is very simple with dark kohled eyes, little bit of gloss and a small round 'bindi' doing the rest of the magic.
And then there is a wedding sequence, where Ananya is decked up in a quintessential half and half sari, which is traditionally worn by the South Indians. Manish Malhotra spruced up the half and half sari with a hint of exquisite north Indian style. The 'kamarband' and 'mangtikka' are just the perfect icing on top of the cake.
So there are striking panel 'kurtis', 'chikan' work 'kurtis', 'Patiala salwars', exquisite saris and all that a girl requires to jazz up her wardrobe in the Indo-western style.
'2 States' turns out to be one of Bollywood's most fashionable films, owing to Manish Malhotra's splendorous presentation.
