MYLAVARAM (KRISHNA DIST): Former MLA and YSR Congress Party district president Samineni Udayabhanu has said chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is offering nominated posts to some Congress MLAs fearing that they may join YSRC.Speaking to newsmen during Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra on Monday, he alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy who failed to recognise the services of partymen, was now showing undue affection towards them fearing threat to his government. When some Congress leaders, led by MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, urged the chief minister to fill the nominated posts in Krishna district, the latter asked them to wait. But he failed to fulfil his assurance. After observing the overwhelming response to Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra in Krishna district, Kiran Kumar was now planning to prevent the party MLAs from joining the YSRC by luring them with nominated posts, Udayabhanu said. The YSRC party leader said 26 MLAs submitted their resignations to the Assembly secretary resenting the mentioning of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name in the FIR filed by the CBI as part of its probe into Jagan’s assets. He said 40 more MLAs are ready to put in papers in support of Jagan. The former MLA warned that both the Congress and opposition Telugu Desam would have to face people’s ire in the coming elections if they failed to stop their ‘malicious campaign’ against YSR family.Odarpu Yatra constituency coordinator Gaddam Mutta Reddy and observer K Sridhar Reddy were also present on the occasion.
