The state government has issued orders for constitution of task force committees at the state, regional and district levels to inspect the infrastructure and other facilities at private professional colleges and find whether such facilities are in accordance with prescribed norms and ensure quality education at those institutions.
The technical commissioner has told the state-level task force committee at its first meeting held in the state capital recently about the need for creation of additional task force committees in certain districts which have a high density of colleges. He has also asked a representative of the director of vigilance and enforcement to attend the state-level task force committee meetings for better coordination.
Considering the suggestions made by the technical commissioner and the state-level task force committee, the government issued orders vide GO Ms NO 77 permitting the technical commissioner and the state-level task force Committees to constitute four additional district-level task force committees in Ranga Reddy district and one each in Hyderabad, Guntur, Nalgonda and Krishna districts.
The government has also decided to permit the convener of the state-level task force committee to invite one officer from the vigilance and enforcement department to the meetings of state-level task force for better coordination with district and region-level vigilance officers. The director-general of vigilance and enforcement shall nominate an officer to be a special invitee for the purpose.
The government has directed the district collectors and joint collectors to supervise district-level inspections and coordinate with the officers in the district-level task force committees who are drafted from different departments.
The government has directed in its GO that the expenditure incurred by the district and regional committees on conducting meetings, and the travelling and daily allowances for visiting the colleges shall be borne by the APSCHE.
