A 35-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her estranged husband to death at her paramour's house when he came to reconcile with her, police said. Nankai served her husband Shiv Mangal (45) with poison-laced pakoras on Friday that made him unconscious. She then stabbed him with a knife, DSP Mukul Dwivedi said.
Mangal, a resident of Bahraich district, had come to reconcile with Nankai after they separated two years ago. According to police, Nankai had first claimed that a gang of robbers had barged into the house and killed Mangal but she later confessed to the murder.
Nankai and Mangal had separated two years ago after the latter allegedly killed the former's mother during a heated argument. The accused had been living in with her paramour Ramesh in Chandra Bhan colony in Mathura and was working at a local Sari factory.
