HYDERABAD: Three Afghan nationals who tried to proceed to Australia with fake documents were deported back to the city after being caught by immigration officials at the Jakarta international airport. The trio had managed to hoodwink immigration officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.The accused are 57-year Ishaq Ali, 19-year Deedar Ali and 25-year Hatif Hussaini of Ghazni province in Afghanistan. Fed up with poverty in their country, the trio wanted to go to Australia for a better living, police said. The three planned to reach Australia from Jakarta in a ship. For this, the trio took help of an agent Ahmed Shah of Kabul who took $5,000 from each of them. He later sent them to Delhi on a visit visa on December 5. Shah directed them to meet another agent, Ali to get their work done. Ali collected another $500 and photographs from them and send them to Hyderabad. On December 15, the trio took a domestic flight to the city and stayed in hotel Rainbow at Lakdi-ka-pul. The next day, Ali came to the city and handed them forged Turkish passports and tickets to Jakarta in the Thai Airways flight for December 17. “Ali took away the trio’s original Afghani passports,’’ RGIA police said. Police said original photographs on the Turkish passports were replaced with the Afghan nationals and fake Indonesian visas were also printed.Using the fake passports and visas, they boarded a flight to Jakarta as the bureau of immigration authorities here failed to realise the documents were forged. Officials at the Jakarta airport came to know the documents were fake and deported the trio to Hyderabad on Tuesday night. RGIA police registered cases against the Afghani nationals and remanded them to judicial custody.
