HYDERABAD: In a late night crackdown at a resort on the outskirts of the city on Monday, police took into custody 28 persons including six women for indulging in 'obscene activities'.
The detained include a group of tourists from Bellary in Karnataka who came to visit the temples in the city, police said.On information that illegal activities were happening at Darling Cave resort at Turkapally in Medchal, police raided the resort around 11.30 p.m and found women dancing 'vulgarly'. "The women, who hail from Mumbai, Gwalior and other places in the state, were wearing skimpy clothes and dancing around the customers who were throwing money on them,'' police said. The customers were in an inebriated condition when the raids took place.

According to police, the resort's management does not have permission to serve liquor or even play loud music. The women are paid huge amounts to dance and attract the customers, police said. Three members from the audio team and two employees of the resort, Abhishek and Jithender, have also been arrested. "The customers had planned to visit temples but landed at a resort, throwing money on the women dancing around them,'' Medchal inspector V Yadagiri Reddy said.
