BSF has stepped up security at the border. Within Punjab, too, road blocks have been placed to avert any incidents of infiltration.

The incident comes just days after an attack on the Air Force base in Pathankot in Punjab on January 2. Seven security personnel and six terrorists had been killed in the attack.
