Natasha Hassanandani, also known as Anita Hassanandani Reddy, was one of the leading actresses in the South as well as Bollywood. Renowned for her roles in Hindi serials and movies, she has also left an indelible mark on the South Indian film industry. Widely recognised for her portrayal of Anjali in the serial Kkavyanjali, Anita has diversified her career across languages and genres.
The actress embarked on her acting journey with the soap opera Idhar Udhar Season 2, marking her debut in the Telugu film industry with Nuvvu Nenu in 2001. Subsequently, she ventured into Tamil cinema with Samurai in 2002, with Varushamellam Vasantham releasing prior. In 2003, she made her presence felt in Bollywood with Kucch To Hai and went on to feature in supernatural thrillers like Krishna Cottage and Koi Aap Sa alongside Sohail Khan.
Anita’s versatility extends to popular soap operas such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, where she portrayed Saanchi, and subsequent roles in Teri Meri Love Stories, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, and Yeh Hai Aashiqui. Her foray into the South Indian film industry includes noteworthy projects like Nenu Pelliki Ready, Thotti Gang, Ragada, and the Telugu film Nuvvu Nenu, later remade in Hindi as Yeh Dil with Tusshar Kapoor. She has also shared the screen with Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar in Veera Kannadiga.
Anita Hassanandani achieved pinnacle fame from 2013 onwards through her portrayal of Shagun Arora/Bhalla in Ekta Kapoor’s Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Her stellar performances earned her a spot in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, where she entered as a wild card contestant during season 8. In the period from June 2018 to May 2019, she added another feather to her cap by playing Vishaka (Vish) in Ekta Kapoor’s blockbuster show Naagin.
In 2013, Anita tied the knot with her beau Rohit Reddy in a picturesque ceremony in Goa. The couple joyfully announced their pregnancy on Instagram in October 2020, welcoming their baby boy, Aaravv Reddy, on February 9, 2021.
Her most recent screen appearance was in 2023, where she essayed the role of Roshni in the show Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum. Beyond her professional endeavours, Anita remains active on Instagram, sharing glimpses of her personal and professional life.
