'If I Debuted In Bollywood, They Would Remove My Clothes To Present Me': Payal Ghosh
The actress tweeted that Bollywood uses female bodies more than their creativity.

Actress Payal Ghosh is one of the well-known faces in the Hindi and Telugu film industries. Apart from her acting prowess, the actress is also known for her active social media presence and for voicing her opinions. Recently, she shared a cryptic post on her official Twitter handle regarding Bollywood that has caused a stir.

The actress tweeted, “Thank God, I got launched in the South Film Industry; if I had gotten launched in Bollywood, they would have removed my clothes to present me, because they use female bodies more than their creativity.”

A few days back, the actress shared another post where she claimed that one needs to sleep to get more movies. She posted a photo on Instagram and wrote, “With the Fire of Love: Red, I will be completing my 11th movie. Agar main soti toh aaj main 30th film complete kar leti (If I was sleeping with someone, it would have been my 30th movie).” It is important to note that earlier, she accused director Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment and said that he “tried to force himself on her”.

This post further sparked the discussion on casting couches in the industry. She captioned the post, “You need to sleep to get big movies. Bina soye possible hi nahi hai (without sleeping with someone, it is not possible).”=

Her post has brought focus to the challenges faced by aspiring actors and actresses in the industry and the importance of a safe workplace. Many criticised her statement but others extended their support to her for being candid and speaking her mind.

On the professional front, Payal Ghosh has worked in popular movies like Prayanam, Oosaravelli, Therodum Veedhiyile and Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi, to name a few.

She will next be seen in the upcoming film Fire of Love: Red. This upcoming thriller film is written and directed by Ashok Tyagi and also stars Bharat Dabholkar and Bharat Dabholkar in pivotal roles. Along with Kamlesh Sawant, Arun Baksh and Shashi Sharma in the supporting roles, the movie is said to revolve around how two obsessed, real-life volcanologists fell in love and chased their passion for molten eruptions together.

The film is produced jointly by Rajeev Chaudhari, Jagannath Waghmare, and Rekha Surendra Jagtap under the banner of Avanti Prajakta Arts. It is all set to hit theatres on November 15.
