Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka won the coin toss and opted to put Babar Azam's Pakistan to field.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first against Pakistan at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on Tuesday in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 encounter.

Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka won the coin toss and opted to put Babar Azam’s Pakistan to field.

Sri Lanka suffered a heavy 102-run defeat against South Africa in their previous World Cup encounter and will look to set things right against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka had got the better of Pakistan in the recently concluded continental tournament of Asia Cup, to make their way to the final before losing out the championship game to India.

Azam-led Pakistan will also have a win on their mind as they look to carry their winning momentum following their opening game victory over the Netherlands.

Pakistan will look to pick up their second win in two games of the ICC showpiece event when they take on the Lankan Lions.
