Restart the app.
Close the app and open it again. Sometimes, a quick app restart can fix minor software bugs. On iPhone, swipe up from the bottom (or double-press the Home button) and swipe up on the app. On Android, swipe up from the bottom, hold, and then release. Swipe up on the app.
Update the app.
Make sure the app is up-to-date. Open the Google Play Store or App Store and search for Life360. If there's an update available, you'll see Update.
Restart your device.
Turn off your device and turn it on again. If the app still isn't updating, try powering down your device fully. Wait a minute, and then turn it on again.
Check your connection.
Make sure your Wi-Fi network is online. If you're having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, make sure the network is stable and active. If it isn't, you may need to restart your router. If you're using cellular, make sure your provider isn't having an outage and your account is active.
Turn off any VPNs.
Disable any active VPN services. A VPN can interfere with location services. Turn it off, restart your device, and then check Life360 again.
Check your Life360 account.
Make sure your account is active. You need an active subscription and account to use Life360. Confirm your membership is still active and that you're signed into the correct account.
Enable Precise Location.
Turn Precise Location on. This can be found in Life360's settings. Do the following: Open Settings. Scroll down and tap Life360. Toggle on Precise Location.
Allow Background App Refresh.
Enable Background App Refresh. This setting allows apps to run in the background without stopping. Do the following: Open Settings. Tap General. Tap Background App Refresh. Tap Background App Refresh again. Tap Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi & Cellular Data.
Disable Low Power Mode.
Turn off Low Power Mode. Since Low Power Mode reduces functions to optimize performance, it may affect Life360's location tracking. To turn off Low Power mode, do the following: Open Settings. Tap Battery. Toggle off Low Power Mode.
Enable Location Sharing.
Make sure Location Sharing is enabled. This permission is required to share your location with apps such as Life360. Do the following: Open Settings. Tap Privacy & Security. Tap Location Services. Toggle on Location Services.
