Go to the Poshmark website and log in. You can log in at the top-right corner of the homepage. If you don’t have an account yet click on sign up. You will need to provide an email and password.
Search for the item you want. You can browse on the homepage, also known as your feed. You can also use the search bar at the top or you can click on the different categories at the top to shop from.
Click on the item you want to trade for. This should open up a page with more details about the item.
Scroll down to propose a trade by adding a comment. Beneath the item listing, there will be a textbox for you to leave comments. Type in your proposal and hit Send. Other sellers will also approach you in this way to trade for items you have listed in your closet.
Agree on a trade. Regardless of who contacted whom first, you and the seller will work out an agreement via the comment section. You both must agree on a trade in order to continue. Make sure both parties understand what items will be traded.
Go to the Your Profile icon and click on the ▼ drop-down. To start the trade you have to go to your profile. It will be located at the top-right section of the website. It is a circle with your picture or initials in it.
Select “My Closet” to edit the item you’re trading. You can edit your item in two ways. Click the Edit Listing button in the top-right corner of the listing. Click on Price Drop next to the photo of your item. You can reflect your new price drop publicly or offer it to people who liked the item privately.
Scroll down to “Pricing” and change the listing price to $3. Once you agree on the trade both parties must list the items for $3 because Poshmark does not allow you to sell items below this amount.
Click Update and then List. Your listing can be shared to social media as well, but don’t do this because you are trading the item and not selling it to someone else.
Buy the item you want for $3. At this point, the seller should have listed their end of the bargain for $3. Wait until they buy your item for the same price.
Ship your item. Once the seller purchases your item you can ship it to them. They will also ship the item you traded for.
Wait for your item to arrive in the mail. Once both parties have shipped and received their items the Poshmark trade will be complete.
