Performing a Soft Reset

Try a Soft Reset to reset the settings on your Kindle Fire. A Soft Reset restores your Kindle to its factory settings without deleting any data. This type of reset is the most helpful if your device has incorrect settings or needs to be rebooted. Soft Resets are typically the go-to for any and all troubleshooting. If your Kindle Fire is running slow, freezing, or isn’t updating, try a soft reset to kick it back in gear.
