White socks are lovely when first bought but they soon grow dull with constant wear. To whiten white socks again, here is an easy solution.
Bring a large pot of water to the boil.
Add a slice of lemon to the boiling water.
Add the socks that need whitening.
Boil the socks for a few minutes.
Remove from the heat with tongs.
Wash with detergent and dry as usual. The socks should now appear much whiter again.
