Open WeChat on your PC or Mac. You’ll usually find it in the Windows Start menu in Windows or the Applications folder on macOS. You’ll need access to the computer you used to create your backup to restore your chats.
Sign in to WeChat on your PC or Mac. When signing in, be sure to use the account for which you backed up data. To sign in, click Log in, then follow the instructions that appear on your phone or tablet.
Click ☰ in WeChat on the computer. It’s at the bottom-left corner of the window.
Click Backup and Restore on the computer.
Click Restore on phone on the computer.
Select conversations to restore. Click the circle to the right of each conversation you want to restore. To select all conversations at once, click Select All at the top-right corner of the window.
Click OK on the computer. Now you’ll need to go back to your phone or tablet to complete the process.
Tap Restore on the phone or tablet. The selected conversations will now restore to your iPhone or Android. When the restoration is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message that says “Completed” on the phone or tablet.
Tap OK on the phone or tablet. You can now access your restored WeChat conversations.
