This wikiHow teaches you how to move a task up or down on a Google Tasks list, using an internet browser. You can also move a task to another list on your account.
Steps

Rearranging the Order of Tasks

Open Gmail in your internet browser. Type mail.google.com into the address bar, and press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard. If you're not automatically logged in, sign in with your email or phone, and your password.

Click the Google Tasks icon on the right sidebar. The Tasks icon looks like a blue circle with a yellow dot and a white diagonal line. You can find it below your profile picture near the top-right corner. This will open the Tasks app in a new panel on the right-hand side. If your Gmail isn't updated to the latest layout, you may not be able to find the Tasks icon on the sidebar. To update, click the Android 7 Settings icon on the top-right, and select Try the new Gmail.

Click and hold the task you want to move. It will lift up from the list.

Drag the task to its new location on the list. You can move a task up or down on your current list, and change the order of all the tasks here.

Reassigning Tasks to Another List

Open Gmail in your internet browser. Type mail.google.com into the address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard. If you're not already logged in, sign in with your email or phone, and your password.

Hover over a task on the list. The Android 7 Edit icon will show up next to the selected task.

Click the Android 7 Edit icon next to the task. This will open the selected task's details, and allow you to edit them. You can move your task to a different list here.

Click the Android 7 Dropdown icon next to the task's current list. The name of this task's current list is indicated below the task title on the details page. It will open a drop-down menu of all your task lists.

Select the list you want to move this task to. Click on a list name here to instantly move your task to another list on your account. You can switch between your lists by clicking the downward facing triangle next to the name of the list you're currently on. A dropdown menu with all of your lists should appear, and you can select the one you want to view.
