Take your time to think. Clearly articulate what you're trying to achieve or solve. A well-defined goal provides direction and purpose for your creative thinking. Don't rush or stress yourself! Also remember the best ideas come when your doing a task! For example when you're doing I.T. in school, you might have an idea to create a website.
Research and Gather Information. Immerse yourself in relevant information. Explore diverse sources to gain a broad understanding of the topic, sparking inspiration from various perspectives. Do not rush this step, however, remember to not get too engrossed in the research as well. This step is supposed to serve as a foundation for the next steps.
Brainstorming. Set aside time for free-form brainstorming. Write down every idea that comes to mind without judgment. Quantity often leads to quality in the creative process. Do not worry about the idea being not up to the standards, you can always work on the quality during the filtration process.
Mind Mapping. Create a visual representation of your thoughts using mind maps. Connect related ideas and explore the relationships between them, uncovering new possibilities. Creating mind maps can help in figuring out some peculiar connections that can help you at the execution phases.
Reflect and Refine. Review your ideas, reflect on their potential, and refine them over time. Don't be afraid to iterate and improve upon your initial thoughts. At the final phases, once you have come up with a good idea, make your idea happen!
