How to Be a Supportive Girlfriend of an American Football Player
Does your partner play American football? Here you will learn how to give them support and be their #1 fan.
Steps

Understand that they will be busy a lot with practices and games. It may seem that football is more important than you, but it's important to always support them. Even if you are mad at them, they're out there on the field thinking of you and wanting to do better because you're in the stands watching them.

Go to their games and practices to show you care. They'll appreciate that you are showing support and that you care about them.

Learn the game. If you don't already know the rules about football, the internet will be your best bet. Or, you could just ask your partner for a few pointers. They'll be glad you are interested and are trying to become more engaged in their sport.

Sit with their family when going to their games. That will gain you major girlfriend points! Their parents will see how supportive you are just by showing up. Also, you get to spend time with their family.

Make signs, T-shirts with their name on it, or wear their team colors when going to their games. It'll show them you are their #1 fan.

Get to know their teammates. You will be seeing them quite often so get used to being around them a lot. Bring them snacks for after practice if you'd like. Doing so will show them that you aren't only watching your partner out there. After all, they play football as a team.

Give them a huge hug and tell them they did great if they lose (but, do the same if they won, too). Players tend to get sensitive towards the game, so be careful when you use constructive criticism. Your partner is already feeling bad because they lost, so just hug them and tell them they'll always be your favorite player.

Give them a massage after games/practices. It will calm their nerves and show that you care about their stress. They may give you a massage in return! For an extra relaxing massage, set up an essential oil diffuser with a really soothing scent, like lavender.

Send a quick text message before games saying how you will be there and you're just sure they will do great. Things like that will be sure to get them pumped up and ready for the game. But also understand that if they want to stop texting you an hour before the game starts, let them. They have to warm up and clear their mind. They have a role in the game and they have to make sure they're one-hundred percent focused.

Make sure they know that you care and that you understand they will have a hectic schedule. It will all be worth it in the end. You'll be able to point out that, That's your partner out there. There's nothing more your partner will love than a very supportive girlfriend. Always have fun with it! They will see it's not just a "job" for you to be there, they'll love that you are having a good time!

What's your reaction?
