Inserting the Ring While Baking
Heat up the oven to the required temperature for baking your cake
Prepare your item by wrapping it into the tin foil. Make sure there are no openings and wrap it up tight. Also make sure that you do not over wrap your item as it will sink.
Pour the batter into your desired pan for your cake.
Place the pan into the pre-heated oven without the item inside it.
Wait until the batter has become firm on the outside and then mushy on the inside to place your item inside the cake and then resume cooking. NOTE: this may cause you to open the already cooked top of the cake. If this happens place a thin layer of batter over the top and resume cooking.
Keep an eye on the cake to make sure it doesn't burn if you placed more batter on top.
Test and make sure the cake is completely cooked. Use a toothpick, not a fork. Forks have the tendency to push the item further down and leave gaping holes in the top of your cake.
Once your cake has cooled, frost it, and enjoy!
Inserting the Ring After Baking
Bake your cake as directed.
Let it cool for at least 3 hours or more.
Simply cut a hole into the top of the cake. It may be easier to refrigerate the cake after it has cooled so when you cut it, it will not crumble. Also be careful that you do not cut a bigger hole than needed or too deep of a hole, as this will cause the cake to fall apart.
Place your item into the hole and then place the cut out piece of cake on top of the hole to see how much you need to cut off.
Cut off as much cake needed to cover your item.
Frost the sides of the piece of cake used to cover your item so when you go to frost the whole cake, it won't fall apart. Do Not frost the bottom of the piece of cake. It will get frosting on your item.
Place the frosted piece of cake on top of the item.
Refrigerate for another hour or so.
Frost the whole cake and enjoy!
