4 Ways to Enable Dark Mode on Snapchat
Are you having a hard time finding the dark mode option in Snapchat? If you're using an iPhone, iPad, or Android device, you can enable dark mode by selecting Settings on your Snapchat profile, choosing "App Appearance," and then selecting "Always Dark.". This wikiHow article covers the steps to enable dark mode.
Things You Should Know
  • On an iPhone, iPad, or Android device, go to "Settings > App Appearance > Always Dark"

Open Snapchat. All iPhone, iPad, and Android users can enjoy Snapchat in dark mode. Start by opening Snapchat, which is the yellow and white ghost icon. Android users should ensure that the app is running the latest version available on Google Play Store as Dark mode was recently added.

Tap your Bitmoji or profile icon. It's in the top left corner of your screen and is usually a cartoon version of yourself.

Tap Android 7 Settings. This gear icon in the top right corner of your screen will redirect you to a "Settings" page.

Tap App Appearance. You'll find this under the "My account" header and may need to scroll down the page to find it.

Tap Always Dark. Once this circle is filled in, Snapchat will always be in dark mode. On the Android version, you will receive a prompt to restart the app to apply the changes. Upon tapping on "Restart now", dark mode will be enabled. If you want to base Snapchat's appearance off your phone or tablet's theme instead, select Match System. Match system is only available on iOS only. There is no option to match Snapchat's appearance with the device's theme on Android.
