WATCH: Cristiano Ronaldo Produces Amazing Backheel Assist In Al-Nassr Training

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to start a new season at Al-Nassr. Following a heartbreaking exit from the 2024 Euro Championship, the Portuguese superstar enjoyed a vacation with his family before joining the pre-season camp of the Saudi Pro League club.

In a viral footage, Ronaldo was seen playing a practice match with his club teammates at the Al-Nassr training facility. The main highlight of the clip was an effortless backheel pass by the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Ronaldo was surrounded by three defenders outside the box. He, however, managed to find a space to send a through ball to his teammate, who was making a run towards the goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo has pulled off some impressive backheel assists during his illustrious career. One of his best came during his first spell with Manchester United. In the 2007-08 season of the Premier League, Ronaldo showed his brilliance to help Wayne Rooney score an impressive goal against Aston Villa.

Cristiano Ronaldo received a pass in the midfield region and pushed it towards the opposition goal with a backheel flick. Wayne Rooney seemed well aware of the plan. After finding the ball, the former England international started a solo run and baffled the Aston Villa goalkeeper with excellent footwork to send the ball into the net.

Cristiano Ronaldo now aims to secure an impressive start with Al-Nassr in the next campaign. Ronaldo claimed his first trophy at Al-Nassr and the side’s first-ever Arab Club Champions Cup title having netted two goals in a win over Saudi side Al-Hilal at the King Fahd Stadium last year.

Ronaldo enjoyed a good outing with Al-Nassr in the 2023-24 season. He featured in 45 matches across all competitions and netted 44 goals while providing 13 assists. Ronaldo failed to replicate his sublime form at the Euro 2024 where Portugal crashed out of the quarter-finals, losing to France. The ex-Juventus forward failed to score any goal in his five appearances in the continental tournament. Al-Nassr will begin their next season with a big match against Al-Taawoun FC in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final on August 14.
