New Delhi: There have been reports emanating from the Spanish media that AC Milan's Ronaldinho was considering retiring from the game, but his brother, who also serves as his agent, has moved to dismiss the rumours.
"My brother is not thinking about retirement at all," Roberto de Assis explained in an interview with Globo TV.
"It's the opposite, seeing as he wants to regain his place in the Brazilian national team at any cost. An article like the one in Sport is a total denigration - they are treating someone who has done so much for the sport with the minimum of respect," he fumed.
De Assis also played down the suggestions that Ronaldinho was in talks over a new contract with the Rossoneri, saying that "everything on this subject is just conjecture and rumours."
Ronaldinho has endured a poor start to the season with Milan, incurring the wrath of both the club's hierarchy and their fans, but will hope to make his mark in the Rossoneri's next game against Udinese.
