Manchester United Eyeing Man City Midfielder in Summer Transfer Window: Report
As per reports, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is a big fan of the Manchester City midfielder who is facing an uncertain future at his current club.

Manchester United continue to be consistently inconsistent leaving manager Erik ten Hag ‘annoyed’ and ‘disappointed’ after they succumbed to a humiliating 0-3 defeat at home to Bournemouth in their Premier League fixture on Saturday.

The below par show on the field and reports of Ten Hag losing the Man United dressing room have continued to put the Premier League giants in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Ten Hag though remains focused on taking the club into a new direction and is eyeing reinforcement from bitter rivals Manchester City.

According to a report in The Sun, Ten Hag is a big fan of City midfielder Kalvin Phillips who is reportedly heading towards an exit after manager Pep Guardiola publicly admitted he cannot see the Englishman in his scheme of things anymore.

“United are watching the situation with Phillips very carefully. He is likely to go out on loan in January, but he will then be looking for a permanent switch in the summer, and Ten Hag wants to be right at the front of the queue,” the publication quoted sources as saying.

“He is a fan of the way Phillips plays, and thinks his style is perfectly suited to United and to the philosophy he is trying to instil in the group. Plus, the new investors want the club to focus on investing in and developing English players, and Phillips still remains one of the best English players in the Premier League,” the source added.

There are also reports of Manchester United open to hearing offers for Casemiro, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.

Phillips joined City from Leeds United in 2022, reportedly on a six-year-deal. However, the move hasn’t worked out.

He’s also being linked in a January transfer to Italian club Juventus FC and Bundesliga’s Bayern Munich.

Manchester United are currently sixth on the Premier League points table with 9 wins and seven defeats from 16 games.
