New Delhi: Inter have focused on west London as they continue the search for summer recruits, with the club's president indicating that negotiations are already underway with Chelsea to bring Ricardo Carvalho and Brazilian-born playmaker Deco to northern Italy.
Inter, coached by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, would be appealing to both players, who have indicated in the weeks since the English season ended that they were not happy with life in London.
Indeed, Carvalho actually stated that the last 12 months had been the worst year of his life, as injuries limited his options to shine. Deco has also said that he would welcome a move, after a campaign in which he disappeared from view fairly soon after the English weather worsened.
When asked about the likelihood of an Inter move for Deco, Moratti indicated to La Stampa that it was much more than a possibility, stating, "It’s something that is nice to hear. Mourinho also wants Carvalho and the negotiations are well underway."
Both Deco and Carvalho were part of the Porto side that won the 2004 Champions League under Mourinho's guidance, and a reunion with the 'Special One' in Milan now looks to be on the cards.
