Berlin: Borussia Dortmund can prevent Pep Guardiola from making a triumphant departure as coach of Bayern Munich.
The two teams meet in the German Cup final on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin in what is Guardiola's last match before taking charge of Manchester City.
Guardiola's team is coming off its record fourth straight Bundesliga title, while Dortmund finished second.
Bayern have the chance of completing their second domestic double under Guardiola. Guardiola won the Bundesliga in all three seasons he was in charge, as well as the German Cup in his first campaign.
That would be a success by any standard, except perhaps by Bayern's. Guardiola's predecessor, Jupp Heynckes, left with a treble, having also won the Champions League in his final season. Guardiola never won the coveted trophy for Bayern, losing in the semifinals all three seasons.
Compared to the hype surrounding his arrival, Guardiola's departure has been low-key.
"We want to give our coaching staff and everyone who is leaving at the end of the season a beautiful farewell and send them off with a double," Bayern captain Philipp Lahm said.
Dortmund will also feature a prominent departure — captain and defender Mats Hummels is playing his final match before moving to Bayern next season. Hummels is the third Dortmund star to leave for Bayern in recent years, after forwards Mario Goetze and Robert Lewandowski.
Like Lewandowski in 2014, Hummels will also play his final match against his future employer.
Lewandowski will probably be the biggest threat to Dortmund, having scored a Bundesliga-high 30 goals this season.
Here are some things to know about the German Cup final:
FOURTH TIME AROUND:
Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are contesting their fourth German Cup final. No other two teams have met more often in the final. The most recent was in 2014, when Bayern won 2-0 in extra time.
Dortmund's only win was in 2012, a 5-2 drubbing.
THIRD STRAIGHT:
Borussia Dortmund are in their third straight German Cup final, a feat achieved by four other clubs, including Bayern Munich.
But Dortmund could become the first to lose three straight finals. After losing to Bayern in 2014, Dortmund also lost to Wolfsburg 3-1 last season, in what was Juergen Klopp's final match as Dortmund coach.
RECORD BAYERN:
Bayern Munich top the all-time list with 17 German Cup titles in 20 finals.
Borussia Dortmund have three titles in seven finals. Dortmund won in 1965, 1989 and 2012.
ANOTHER BAYERN RECORD:
Bayern Munich are chasing their 11th domestic double. Only four other teams have completed the double and none has done it more than once.
Schalke won it in 1937, Cologne in 1978, Werder Bremen in 2004 and Borussia Dortmund in 2012.
MISSING INJURED:
Arjen Robben and Holger Badstuber are missing for Bayern, but Xabi Alonso has overcome a rib injury and Javi Martinez is back from an ankle problem.
Ilkay Gundogan and Park Joo-ho are absent for Dortmund, but Marco Reus has shaken off a cold.
