New Delhi: Roma captain Francesco Totti has said that he doesn't understand what the problem with the Giallorossi is.
"The only way to leave this tunnel is to find the win. We must start from scratch and go step by step, game by game," Totti is quoted as saying on forzaroma.info.
"There is something in the whole situation, but I can't explain it. Something incredible. (Coach Claudio) Ranieri's way of playing is easier to put into practice than the one (Luciano) Spalletti asked for. Yet we can't get results."
Totti's reaction is typical of his teammates. On the plane journey back from Switzerland, the entire squad were asked, one by one, what they thought the problem was by Ranieri, sporting director Daniele Prade and director Bruno Conti.
The answer was always the same - "I don't know".
Despite the confusion, their captain wants them to forget about their past and concentrate on winning games.
"At one time we were brilliant," he smiled. "We won games, won trophies and met our targets. Now, with essentially the same players, we are unable to put Ranieri's simpler and easier way of playing into practice. I repeat, however, the most important thing is to return to winning."
