Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has shared his plans for the new signing, Kylian Mbappe. The French star can play both as a striker and a winger. Real Madrid have a star-studded attacking unit, featuring the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham. All these players have already gained the faith of the manager and are likely to retain their places in the playing eleven next season. The question that now remains is how Ancelotti will use Mbappe, who mostly prefers to operate down the left flank.
The Real Madrid manager was asked the same during a recent chat with former footballer John Obi Mikel. In response, Ancelotti revealed that he might opt for a dynamic and fluid attacking formation where the French FIFA World Cup winner would fit in easily. The Italian manager also feels the forwards should be given freedom which will boost their attacking prowess and creativity.
“I see him play in front and the attack is quite wide The pitch is 68 metres. We have to cover the 68 meters with the players in front. It can be Vinicius because when I’m asked where he played last season it is difficult to say because he didn’t play as a left-winger and the same with Rodrygo. He starts on the right but sometimes shifts to the middle of the left,” Ancelotti said on the Obi One Podcast.

Vinicius and Rodryo mostly played as wingers last season when Real Madrid won both the La Liga and the Champions League titles. The Brazilian duo was sometimes seen switching their roles, linking up with Bellingham in the midfield.
“Fitting Mbappé in the team won’t be a problem. It’s important to remember what he said: He’ll adapt to the team. The key is that each player has to contribute talent and quality in service to the team,” Ancelotti told Obi Mikel, as quoted by ESPN.
Mbappe completed his move to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer and arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent. Mbappe joined Real Madrid on a five-year contract and he was unveiled recently in front of the supporters at Santiago Bernabeu.
