New Delhi: AC Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani talked about the current situation in the negotiations to sign David Beckham from Los Angeles Galaxy.
It's still very uncertain whether Milan will succeed in their quest to sign David Beckham on a permanent basis from LA Galaxy. Currently the difference between the Rossoneri's offer and the Americans' request is still considerable, as the Italian giants are unwilling to spend more than €3 million, while Galaxy are asking for €12 million.
"We are working to keep Beckham with us until June 30, 2010," Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani told a TV programme 'La Politica nel Pallone'. "The player wants it and so do we. If he stays at Milan Beckham will be able to play in the 2010 World Cup."
"In the USA Beckham is considered a testimony for their league and he also has other commercial contracts, that is why Galaxy are asking so much," Galliani said.
Still, Galliani is not giving up the fight just yet, as he confides in the player's economic flexibility.
"David is available to miss out on large amounts of money, now it depends on him and what his lawyers will be able to do, who are in Los Angeles to discuss the situation," he said. "We are waiting to see what will happen."
The bald-headed manager they affectionately refer to as 'Uncle Fester' in Italy revealed there are three possible outcomes.
"The possibilities are: David will go back to Los Angeles on March 9, or he stays until May 31, or he will remain until June 30, 2010. I don't want to make any per centages now, but it's clear I'm hoping for the third option," he added.
The Englishman has started every match in Serie A since joining Milan, impressing media and fans alike, and scoring two goal in the process.
