IISc Bangalore Opens Internship Applications For Science and Engineering Students; Check Details
Students in their third or fourth year of a BE or BTech, as well as their first or second year of MSc or MTech are eligible to apply for the IISc internship programme

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore commenced the online application process for the Q-Daksha Student Internship Programme 2024. This internship is an excellent opportunity for aspiring students to participate in and witness Quantum Technology research at IISc. The registration process started on National Science Day which was February 28, 2024.

According to the schedule, the last date to submit the application forms for the Q-Daksha Student Internship Programme 2024 is March 21. Students studying science and engineering can submit their application forms by scanning a QR code provided by the institute. The programme, which is only available to interested Karnataka students, will last 4 to 8 weeks and will also provide participants with an appropriate stipend.

“As quantum technology is highly interdisciplinary in nature, we encourage students from science and engineering disciplines (examples of disciplines, but not restricted to Physics, Chemistry, mathematics, computer science, electrical and electronics, nanotechnology, etc.) to apply,” read an official notice.

Taking to X (formally Twitter), the IISc Bangalore informed the Q-Daksha 2024 registrations are now open. “Happy to announce that we are back with the Q-Daksha Student Internship Program 2024 on this National Science Day! Q-Daksha 2024 registrations are now open! To learn more about the program and to apply, visit https://shorturl.at/pOPX1.”

Q-Daksha Student Internship Programme 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Students in their third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech), as well as their first or second year of a Master of Science (MSc) or Master of Technology (MTech), are eligible to apply for the internship programme.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) intends to launch a concerted effort to address key quantum technology challenges by establishing a framework for fostering collaborations among physicists, material scientists, computer scientists and engineers.

The IISc is a key institute that has assisted India in developing previous strategic missions (the Indian nuclear technology and space technology programmes were conceived and nurtured at IISc) and has a multidisciplinary research faculty interested in quantum science and technologies.

IISc has led the nation’s efforts to become self-reliant in the fields of condensed matter physics, nanoelectronics, and nanoscience long before there was a current interest in quantum technologies.
