IGNOU to Hold 37th Convocation Today; Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to Attend
Students who have completed their programme of study in December 2022 and June 2023 Term End Examinations at IGNOU are eligible for the award of an original certificate at the 37th Convocation

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is holding its 37th convocation today, February 20, at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Convention Centre. Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar has been invited as the chief guest. “Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, the Hon’ble Vice President of India will preside over the ceremony and deliver the Convocation Address, adding an extra layer of significance to the event,” the university said.

The convocation will be telecast live on IGNOU’s Gyan Darshan Channel, Swayam Prabha Channels for Higher Education Managed by IGNOU and streamed live through the official Facebook page of IGNOU

Students who have completed their courses in the December 2022 and June 2023 Term End Examinations (TEE) at IGNOU are eligible to receive the original certificate at the convocation ceremony. They will have to attend the convocation and collect the certificate at his/her regional centre where they belong and not at any other regional centre, the varsity stated.

Furthermore, students have been given the option “To Attend Convocation in Person or receive Degree/Diploma by Post”. They are required to fill in their present address at which they want to receive their certificate. In case, the convocation is not held at the regional centre due to any circumstances where the student belongs, he/she will have to attend the convocation at another nearby regional centre which may be mostly in the same state or a nearby state otherwise his/her certificate will be sent by post, IGNOU added.

“In case, the students are not invited to attend the Convocation or could not attend the Convocation even after submission of the requisite fee, their degree/diploma will be sent by post by the concerned Regional Centre after the convocation and in case of P.G. Certificate/Certificate Programmes, Certificate will be sent by Headquarters. Such students should therefore contact their concerned Regional Centre, where they belong to/Headquarters, as the case may be,” states the official notice by the university.
