Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja took to Instagram on Sunday (July 7) to share a picture from the IPL 2023 final to wish former Indian captain and wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni a happy 43rd birthday. The 35-year-old Jadeja posted a picture of Dhoni lifting him after he scored a four on the last ball to help the Chennai Super Kings secure a famous win over the Gujarat Titans in the 2023 IPL final.
In his birthday post for the legendary Indian captain, which is now going viral on the internet, Jadeja wrote, “Happy birthday to my only favourite person in cricket. mahi bhai Your presence is the greatest gift. Lots of love #bigbrother.”

Jadeja has been associated with the CSK since IPL 2012 and has played a big role in helping the team the team become IPL champions in 2018, 2021, and 2023. He was also appointed as CSK’s captain ahead of the start of IPL 2022, but after Men in Yellow only managed to win two out of the first eight matches, he stepped down from his role and passed the baton back to Dhoni.
Jadeja, who made his international debut for India under Dhoni’s leadership, announced his retirement from T20Is after playing in all eight matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 and helping India end the 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.
The spin-bowling all-rounder is an integral part of India’s Test and ODI teams and is expected to get picked in the Indian team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Dhoni celebrated his birthday with Salman Khan
Former Indian captain Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, after playing his last match for India on July 10, 2019, was seen celebrating his 43rd birthday with his wife Sakshi, close friends, and Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Sunday. Several pictures and videos of Salman attending Dhoni’s birthday celebration went viral on the internet, and later Salman himself took to Instagram to share a picture of him with Dhoni from the birthday party and captioned it, “Happy Birthday Kaptaan Sahab!”

Dhoni was last seen in action for CSK in the IPL 2024 match against RCB in Bengaluru on May 18, 2024. There is no official update on his participation in the 2025 edition of the cash-rich league.
