Rohit Sharma Pulls off a Screamer: Dinesh Karthik Stunned in Comm Box, Gill in Disbelief | WATCH
Rohit Sharma jumped one-handed and grabbed it over his head. While the hosts were overjoyed, Das was left stunned and headed back to the dressing room after scoring 13 off 30 balls.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma pulled off a one-handed stunner to end Litton Das’ short stint in the middle as the second India vs Bangladesh Test resumed on Monday. The players finally returned to action after no play for two straight days due to incessant rain and a wet outfield.

Bangladesh resumed their first innings at 107 for 3 after a 2-day long rain break. Jasprit Bumrah struck early in the morning session to get rid of veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim. Later, Siraj added to the visitors’ woes by dismissing Litton Das cheaply. But the Indian captain’s stunning fielding display left the viewers awestruck.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 2nd Test Day 4

It was the 50th over when Siraj bowled a length ball around off which Das hammered over the infield. The ball seemed to be flying for a boundary but Rohit’s leap shattered Bangladesh’s hopes. The Indian captain jumped one-handed and grabbed it over his head. While the hosts were overjoyed, Das was left stunned and headed back to the dressing room after scoring 13 off 30 balls.

Rohit Sharma’s grab also left cricketer-tuned-commentator Dinesh Karthik amused who praised the Indian captain, saying, “What a Catch by Rohit Sharma!”

The rain has interrupted the game so much that it’s heading towards a possible draw. The opening day was called off after lunch break with Bangladesh scoring 107 runs for a loss of three wickets in 35 overs.

The rain got heavier the next day, forcing the match officials to call off the entire day following multiple inspections.  It didn’t rain on Sunday either, but the field wasn’t arid which led to the third day’s abandonment, putting the stadium’s drainage system under the scanner.

‘Green Park isn’t Upgraded’

Speaking to The Indian Express, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) treasurer Prem Manohar Gupta said Green Park wasn’t as upgraded as many other Test grounds the BCCI owns across the country.

“Look, it is an old ground. This ground doesn’t have modern facilities. We are planning to restructure the drainage system, right after this match. We will uplift the drainage system in a way that the match starts the moment rain stops,” Gupta was quoted as saying by the daily.
