The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is all set to start on Friday, February 23 with Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians taking part in the opening contest. The WPL 2024 opening fixture between Delhi Capitals Women and Mumbai Indians Women is scheduled to be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Friday’s match will also mark a repeat of last season’s final in which Mumbai Indians Women had emerged victorious by a margin of seven wickets. The defending WPL champions will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur this time, while Meg Lanning will handle the leadership duties at the Delhi-based franchise.

Unlike last year, the upcoming edition of the WPL will be played in Bengaluru and New Delhi. Last year, WPL was held entirely across Mumbai. Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium will host the first 11 games of WPL 2024. The second phase of the campaign, including the eliminator and the final, will take place at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
