Michael Vaughan Heavily Trolled For His Debatable Remark on Kanpur Test, Claims 'India Are Playing...'
Indian batters adopted ultra-aggressive approach to push for a result in the ongoing 2nd Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur.

In their push for a result in the ongoing Kanpur Test against Bangladesh, India batters created a plethora of records on the fourth day. More than two days of the 2nd Test between the two teams have been lost to rain and unfit ground conditions but the hosts seem intent on not settling for a draw setting up the contest for a mouthwatering finish.

After bowling out Bangladesh for 233, India blazed away to a 52-run lead in just 34.4 overs during which they set new records for the fastest team 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul peeled off quickfire half-centuries after captain Rohit Sharma clattered a pair of consecutive sixes to get off the mark in a short but entertaining 11-ball 23.

Thanks to India’s ultra-aggressive approach with the bat, social media was abuzz with users praising their tactics. Former England captain Michael Vaughan also chimed in but his post on X (formerly Twitter) led to heavy trolling.

Vaughan posted, “I see India are playing Bazball ..”.

Vaughan’s remark was in reference to how England have been showing aggression with the bat since the appointment of Ben Stokes as Test captain and Brendon McCullum as the head coach which has been nicknamed ‘Bazball’.

However, the comment didn’t go down well with a section of the users on the platform as they reminded the Englishman of how India have been ‘bazballing’ before it even became a thing.

Few pointed out how the legendary Virender Sehwag used to play his shots without bothering about the format and thanks to his style, he’s often credited with redefining the role of a Test opener. Some cited wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant who is also known for hitting runs at a quick pace in red-ball cricket.

India declared innings at 285/9 before taking two wickets as Bangladesh ended the penultimate day with the scorecard reading 26/2 in 11 overs, trailing by 26 runs.

India’s hopes of winning this contest rest on how quickly they can wrap up the Bangladesh innings so as to give themselves a realistic chance of chasing down whatever target the tourists set on the fifth and final day.
