IPL 2024: GT Skipper Shubman Gill and SRH's Abhishek Sharma Involved in Banter After Gujarat Beat Hyderabad

Gujarat Titans claimed a 7-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday in the 2024 edition of the IPL.

GT’s bowlers limited SRH to 162 runs in 20 overs before successfully chasing down the target in 19.1 overs to claim their second win of the season.

Following the conclusion of the game, GT skipper Shubman Gill and SRH batter Abhishek Sharma were seen involved in banter.

SRH opted to bat after winning the toss as Mayank Agarwal and Travis Head opened the innings. The pair put up a 34-run partnership before Agarwal fell to Azmatullah Omarzai. Head was dismissed by Noor Ahmed shortly after.

Abhishek Sharma was scalped for 29 by Mohit Sharma, before Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen attempted to steady the SRH ship.

Klaasen was removed by Rashid Khan, before Markram fell prey to Umesh Yadav. Shahbaz Ahmed and Adbul Samad put up a 45-run stand before Ahmed was dismissed by Mohit.

Impact player Washington Sundar was sent back for a golden duck in the very next delivery before GT managed to claim another wicket as they ran Samad out in the very last ball of the innings to limit to 162.

GT openers Wriddhiman Saha and Gill put up a 36 run stand for the first wicket before Saha was scalped by Shahbaz. Gill was next to go after making 36 runs off 28 deliveries as he fell to Mayank Markande.

Sai Sudharshan and David Miller solidified the chase with their well-paced knocks as they put up a 54-runs partnership to steer GT towards the finish line.

Sudharshan was scaled before helping Gujarat beyond the target as he was dismissed for 45 by Pat Cummins.

However, Miller’s unbeaten 44 run knock and Vijay Shankar’s 14-run innings helped GT claim their second home win of the season.
