India have surged back to the second spot in the ICC World Test Championship points table following their excellent 106-run win over England in Vizag on Monday.
India bounced back in the ongoing five-match Test series against England at home which they were trailing 0-1 after a stunning defeat in Hyderabad last week. The Rohit Sharma-led side stormed to a 106-run win on the fourth day of the 2nd Test in Vizag which helped them level the series one-all.

Ahead of the series, India, a two-time WTC finalists, were placed second on the points table but the defeat pushed them out of top-three and into the fifth spot.
They have bounced back to reclaim the position with their latest win taking their point percentage to 52.77. World champion Australia continue to hold the top spot with a point percentage of 55.
India opted to bat first and Yashasvi Jaiswal produced a memorable double-century to power them to 396-all out in first innings. In reply, England made an aggressive start but Jasprit Bumrah was scintillating as he took a six-wicket haul to limit them to 253-all out and hand India a big 143-run lead.
In India’s second dig, it was the turn of Shubman Gill to take the spotlight as the youngster recorded a sparkling hundred in the team’s total of 255-all out.
England were left chasing 399 and they fought hard but eventually were bowled out for 292 just before the tea break on Day 4.
England though continue to languish at the eighth spot.
India have now played six Tests in the ongoing WTC cycle (2023-25), winning three, losing two and drawing one. Australia have played 10 Tests of which they have won six, lost three and with one ending in a draw.
England have won three and lost as many of their seven Tests so far while one was a draw.
South Africa, New Zealand and Bangladesh complete the top-five.
