An intriguing episode from superstar Rajinikanth’s life has been making waves recently. Debuting in 1978, as a villain, Rajinikanth was first introduced by director Balachander in the movie Moondru Mudichu. It was with the film Bairavi that he transitioned into the role of a hero. From that point onward, the actor has consistently held the coveted position of being the top star in Tamil cinema for numerous years.

Now, journalist Cheyyaru Balu has shared a particular incident from Rajinikanth’s life during an interview. The story goes that Rajinikanth once contemplated renouncing his family and material wealth to pursue a life of asceticism. He shared this with his wife Lata, mentioning that they possessed ample resources and worldly wealth. Consequently, Rajinikanth informed Lata of his intention to embark on a spiritual journey to a hermitage.

Initially, Lata Rajinikanth vehemently opposed this decision but she eventually came around and supported her husband’s commitment. When news of Rajinikanth’s plans surfaced, director SP Muthuraman made efforts to calm him down and reconcile.

During this period, hundreds of fans protested outside his residence. One ardent fan even arrived with a can of kerosene, proclaiming that he would take his life if Rajinikanth pursued asceticism. This dramatic turn of events led him to reconsider his decision.

Even today, Rajinikanth has demonstrated his enduring dominance in Tamil cinema through Jailer. His fans celebrated him with such fervour that no other star in the film industry boasts as massive a fan following as he does.

Just a day before the movie’s premiere, a video capturing Rajinikanth’s arrival at Dehradun airport went viral on Instagram. In the video, Rajinikanth exuded enthusiasm as he disembarked from the plane, sporting a casual outfit of a white t-shirt and black trousers. He graciously posed for photos with a handful of fortunate fans, leaving them thrilled.

Rajinikanth was walking alongside a group of individuals, which included security personnel and a few others. After a short while, a priest presents him with a garland and eager fans quickly spot him, rushing to take selfies with the superstar.
