After entertaining the audience for so many years, the actor passed away in 2001 due to age-related issues. In his career, he was a part of many hit films. One such film was Senthamarai, released in 1962. Recently, the film completed 61 years since its release on September 14.

After realising that Kamala is expecting a child, the man leaves Kamala. During this time, Kamala’s younger cousin is sent to Sri Lanka. Kamala loses her cool and tries to commit suicide, but a family saves her and shelters her. But she insists on everyone not telling them that Senthamarai is the daughter of Kamala.

Later, Senthamarai grows up and meets his mother’s younger cousin. They fall in love with each other. The plot of the film is how they finally meet and become together. The film didn’t receive a great response from the audience and was declared a flop. The music was composed by Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy, and the lyrics were by KD Santhanam and Kannadasan. It was produced by AL Srinivasan under the banner of Chitra Productions. The cinematography was handled by G. Vittal Rao and M. Karnan.

According to reports, no complete print of the film is known to have survived, making Senthamarai a partially lost film.
